Launched in 2009 by two friends passionate about sports, Soccer Direct is now the largest online store offering good advice, excellent service, and quick delivery of sporting goods to soccer fans, players, coaches and teams in the Netherlands, Belgium and Luxemburg region.

The first Soccer Direct eCommerce website, while popular, was essentially a stand-alone system that required manual order entry into the ERP system. The company has grown and needed a flexible and more automated solution capable of supporting further growth without sacrificing performance.
Furthermore, the product catalog has grown very diverse, requiring new and different product categories and product types to be added and easily managed – functionality that the previous web architecture lacked.

Maven has developed a custom Magento store theme from the PSD file provided by designers working on the redesign. We enabled multiple product features with the corresponding filtering options, as well as implemented multiple Ajax filters that optimized product filtering, making browsing through the growing product catalog a breeze.
